FAQ's
Will I have time to look around the park? Yes! Your race fee includes entry to the historic Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, and you will have plenty of time to enjoy the fabulous scenery, newly rebuilt visitor's center (open at 10:00 a.m.), and the country's highest suspension bridge. While we (and the Bridge) can't be certain of what else will be open at that time, your admission entitles you to peruse the grounds until closing.
Remember that family members of race participants get in for just $12 per person!
Do you allow strollers on the course? We encourage strollers and chariots on the 5K/10K races. Due to the steep terrain on the 1/2 marathon course, we are not permitting strollers and chariots. Safety for all participants is our primary concern. If you are pushing a stroller or chariot for the 5K or 10K course, remember that the first .7 miles of the course is a hill, so be prepared. The course consists of both paved and unpaved dirt roads, so please plan your stroller choice accordingly. But don't forget to enter the kids in the Toddler Trot!
Will you cancel for inclement weather? We run rain or shine! The weather at the Royal Gorge is unpredictable, and may change quickly. We will make every effort to accommodate any weather that we encounter, but we will not cancel the race. This race is a fundraiser for Starpoint Services and we cannot offer refunds.
Are dogs allowed in the race?
Yes! The Royal Gorge Bridge (and also the surrounding public park) is happy to welcome your furry friends. (Dogs are not, however, allowed in buildings or restaurants.) Please remember that dogs must be leashed at all times and you MUST clean up after your pet (but you already knew that). We may even give your pooch a medal if he completes the race! The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is planning a kennel facility, but it is not available at this time. Check their website for more information!
