FAQ's
Will I have time to look around the park?
Absolutely! Your race fee includes entry to the renowned Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, offering ample time to explore its historic attractions and marvel at the country's highest suspension bridge. While specific attractions may vary depending on the timing, your admission grants access to the park until closing. Plus, don't forget about the $10 discount for family members of race participants, allowing everyone to share in the experience at a reduced rate. Take advantage of this opportunity to soak in the beauty and history of the park before or after your race adventure!
Do you allow Strollers on the course?
Strollers and chariots are welcome on our 5K race course, but due to safety concerns on the rocky terrain, we're unable to permit them on the 8 Mile Trail Run and Half Marathon Trail Run. Safety for all participants is our priority. For those using strollers on the 5K course, please note the initial hill climb in the first .7 miles and be prepared for both paved and unpaved sections. And don't forget to sign up the little ones for the Toddler Trot!
Do you allow Dogs on the course?
Absolutely! Your furry companions are welcome to join the race. The Royal Gorge Bridge and surrounding public park are dog-friendly areas, but please remember to keep your furry friends leashed at all times and clean up after them. We'll even have dog bandanas to make sure they look stylish during the event! While dogs aren't allowed in buildings or restaurants, the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park offers five free kennels for your convenience. Check their website for more details. Let's make sure our four-legged friends have some swag too!
Will you cancel for inclement weather?
We run, rain or shine! However, our priority is to preserve the condition of our trails. If they become too muddy, the city has the authority to close them. Should this be the case, we have an alternative 8 Mile dirt road route for our trail runners to utilize. Weather at the Royal Gorge can be unpredictable and can change rapidly. We'll do our best to adapt to any weather conditions we face. It's important to note that this race is a fundraiser for Starpoint, and as such, we're unable to offer refunds.
