the royal gorge bridge & park - "Still standing tall"
After suffering a devastating fire in the summer of 2013, the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is back and better than ever! They have been working hard to replace and renew all of the attractions that were lost, and they have succeeded in building a world-class park. We are proud to host our event at the site of Colorado's Natural Wonder. During our race, you'll experience gorgeous views of the surrounding 4,000 acres of land that surrounds the Park. You'll finish your race one of the world's highest suspension bridge, which remained unscathed (save a few singed boards that have since been replaced) during the fire.
We are excited to offer our participants FREE entrance to the Bridge & Park for the entire day of the race. What's more, family members receive a $10 discount and can also enjoy all that the park has to offer. Everyone will love soaring above the Arkansas River on the new gondolas, traversing the bridge, enjoying the shows at the Plaza Theater, and marveling at the many viewpoints around the park. Children will especially appreciate the new Children's Playland, where they'll climb three stories and then slide down. Even smaller children can run around the delightful play area and grassy playground.
Dogs are allowed in the park (though not on the attractions / rides), and there are first-come-first-serve kennels available.
