Hiking, Biking, and more! The Royal Gorge Region is filled with amazing trails, magnificent views, and delicious food for your family to enjoy. We've got more than a few reasons to turn your race day into a vacation weekend! Once you finish your race, and spend some time exploring the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, head back toward Cañon City for some other family fun activities.

  • Royal Gorge Bridge & Park - Your race registration includes an all-day pass to the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park: Don't leave after the race!  Enjoy live music. Then, you're free to peruse the whole park at your leisure.
  • Ride the Royal Gorge Route Railroad - See the bridge from the bottom of the Gorge! To make advance reservations, please forward your race registration to [email protected] before you call (1-888-724-5748).  Remember, registered runners receive a 50% discount during race weekend.  Don't delay as this may fill up.
  • Skyline Drive - Drive historic Skyline Drive, featuring REAL dinosaur footprints and a gorgeous view of Cañon City!
  • Learn about the history of Canon City at our museums - Royal Gorge History Museum or the Museum of Colorado Prisons
  • Adventure Zip Lining - Contact Royal Gorge Zipline Tours to schedule the ride of your life!

Trails
The Royal Gorge Region is filled with great trails. As long as your legs can carry you, you'll find plenty to keep you busy on Sunday!

Leaf Peeping
Cañon City is also a great jumping-off point for various locations that are perfect for leaf-peeping this time of year. We highly recommend Cripple Creek, Bishops Castle, and Lake Isabelle. ​
